Allwell from Sunflower Health Plan Available for 2018 Medicare Enrollment Period

LENEXA, Kan., Oct. 16, 2017 -- Open enrollment is underway for those who are eligible for Medicare next year. For the first time, Sunflower is offering Medicare Advantage products, branded as Allwell from Sunflower Health Plan. The new plan will be effective Jan. 1, 2018.

Allwell will be providing plans and coverage for residents in Johnson and Wyandotte counties.

Medicare is a government health insurance program for people age 65 or older. It may also cover certain younger people with disabilities, as well as those suffering from End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). Medicare beneficiaries can compare and purchase a plan that will meet their healthcare and budget needs during the Open Enrollment period through Dec. 7, 2017. Consumers and their family members can compare and purchase products on the Allwell from Sunflower Health Plan website.

Allwell from Sunflower Health Plan's products include a variety of benefits, such as $0 premiums, $0 primary care provider copay and optional dental coverage.

Sunflower has been providing healthcare services to Medicaid members in Kansas since 2013. The health plan currently serves 130,000 members throughout the state.
