SHPBN-2016-043 Client Obligation on the Sunflower Portal

Sunflower Health Plan is reminding providers that patient liability and client obligation amounts are available on the Sunflower Provider Portal. The data is refreshed daily to accurately indicate the member’s obligation amount.

Accessing Patient Cost Sharing

To access patient liability and client obligation on the Provider Portal:

  • Log in with your secure login.
  • From the main landing page, click “Eligibility,” at the top of the screen.
  • Enter a Member Medicaid ID or Last Name.
  • Enter the member’s DOB.
  • Click “Check Eligibility.” The member record will load.
  • Click on the Member’s name.
  • Click on “Cost Sharing” on the left hand side.

The Cost Sharing page will display the patient liability or client obligation amount for the current month. Every member in HCBS services is assigned a provider for paying client obligation. $0.00 is a valid amount as assigned by the State of Kansas.

To view historical months, click the “History” button.

We are distributing an FAQ to our members about payment of client obligation. This occurs during the HCBS assessment and service-plan visit. The FAQ instructs members to check their Integrated Service Plan for information on which provider to pay if they have a new or increased obligation.
