Effective October 1, 2024, Kansas Medicaid will cover prescribed drugs that are not Covered Outpatient Drugs, including drugs that are authorized for import by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) when medically necessary during drug shortages identified by the FDA.

Note: The effective date of the policy is October 1, 2024. The implementation of State policy by the KanCare Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) may vary from the date noted in the Kansas Medical Assistance Program (KMAP) bulletins.
