KMAP BULLETIN: New KMAP Portals and KMMS System Now Live

Date: 09/01/25

KMAP AND MCO GL2.2-003 (PDF)

As previously communicated, the Kansas Modular Medicaid System (KMMS) used for the Kansas Medical Assistance Program (KMAP) was updated as of Monday, September 2, 2025. Below are items to keep in mind when using the new system.

KMMS Items of Interest:

  • Provider Secure Portal:
  • Removed Conflicting Search Fields from HCPCS/NDC/DX Search Pages: Helps eliminate conflicting results by providing improved coverage results. (Previously updated on the KMAP public portal.)
  • Clarified Ineligibility Periods: Eligibility verification results will provide additional information if member was not covered during the searched date span.
    • Examples:
      • Not Eligible: if monthly date range is entered and member was not eligible for that month, the message “The member is not eligible” will display.
      • Eligible: if a monthly date range is entered and member was eligible for the month, all applicable eligibility information will display.

Eligibility searches must be in one calendar month if using a date range. Users entering multi-month date range searches will receive “Date of service not within allowable inquiry period” error  messaging.

  • Increased Delegate Results and Exporting: Portal administrators will see more delegates returned by page (from 25 to 100) and can export search results.
  • Printing of Code Search Results: User can print a PDF of results from the search of procedure (HCPCS) codes, diagnosis codes and drug NDC codes.
  • Revalidation Due Date: provider revalidation due date will now appear on search results added to the Manage Revalidation page.
  • Redacted Identifiable Indicators: during provider enrollment or revalidation, the first 5 digits of sensitive identifiers will be masked. Users can display the full number as needed. Full number will be masked on the PDF submission copy.

MCO Secure Portal:

  • New Feature – Claim and Encounter Search: Search results can be sorted and exported to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet using Export-To-Excel or Export All options. Users can also view encounter information via the member dashboard on Search Members under the Resources menu.
    • When a member is searched and encounters are available for the member searched, a hyperlink will display that allows the user to view more encounter claims information for the member.
  • Expanded View of Edit/Audit Detail Panel: Additional information received is now viewable. Fields added in sections:
    • Resolution
      • Pre-Emptive
      • Claims Status Codes
