All-MCO Provider Survey Available

Date: 07/21/23

As in past years, all MCOs are required to survey participating providers regarding their experiences with and support from the MCO. The State of Kansas has recommended that all MCOs use the same survey.

This survey will be administered by Wichita State University’s Center for Applied Research and Evaluation (WSU CARE) and will contain questions very similar to those asked of providers in the past by all MCOs. This will allow for more consistency in evaluating provider experiences across all MCOs.

A few things for you to know as a provider:

  • The survey will be administered exclusively online. It will be sent to the primary contact person for each provider. The survey has 20 questions and should take no more than 10-15 minutes to complete.
  • WSU CARE uses a secure online surveying platform for the collection of your feedback. MCOs will not see individual responses, only aggregate reports for those providers that participate with them.
  • You may be asked to provide feedback on one, two, or all three MCOs, depending on a random sampling process. It is relatively unlikely that you’ll be asked to respond for all three. But instructions will be clear on how to do so for more than one MCO.
  • Each MCO will receive their own aggregate report on the data collected by WSU CARE by the end of October 2023. WSU CARE will also create a combined report with data from all MCOs for KDHE by the end of October 2023.
  • This is an all-MCO survey. Each MCO may continue to field their own, individual health plan surveys throughout the year in addition to this new, all-MCO survey.

Results from this survey will be used to help MCOs continue to support providers in meeting the needs of those they serve. Please make time to complete the survey when it comes to your organization/practice.
