William A. Warnes, M.D., Joins Sunflower Health Plan as Behavioral Health Medical Director

Sunflower Health Plan announced today that Dr. William Warnes joined the Sunflower team as Behavioral Health Medical Director effective August 19, 2019.

"Dr. Warnes has a strong record of helping individuals and communities in Kansas achieve positive health outcomes through the integration of physical and behavioral health services,” said Michael Stephens, Sunflower Health Plan President and CEO. “His experience caring for the needs of our communities and his knowledge of state and federal healthcare programs will be invaluable as we continue to help improve the health of our members."

Dr. Warnes has a breadth of experience that includes providing healthcare in rural and urban settings, clinical and research work, and medical and behavioral practice. He most recently served as the staff psychiatrist and medical director at The Guidance Center, a community mental health center serving Leavenworth, Atchison and Jefferson counties in Kansas, and is board certified in child and adolescent psychiatry, adult psychiatry and family medicine.
