Provider Spotlight: Sunflower Health Plan Proud Ally of KidsTLC

Date: 01/17/24

Partnership Aims to Amplify Access to Care for Young Members

Sunflower Health Plan, a managed care organization established to deliver quality healthcare in the state of Kansas, and a wholly owned subsidiary of Centene Corporation (NYSE:CNC), is grateful for its partnerships with all of its valued providers. One such collaboration, that with KidsTLC, is featured in a new video describing the impact the organization has on young Kansans and their families.

KidsTLC delivers services to children and families in northeast Kansas who experience mental and behavioral health challenges, developmental trauma, and autism. The behavioral health provider offers both outpatient and residential support services.

"Having the right services available to our members when they need them, and where they need them, is paramount to the long-term success for a child whose development depends on getting appropriate care," said Alissa Zerr, Sunflower Health Plan vice president of population health. "This relationship gives our members access to KidsTLC's skilled professionals who’ve demonstrated their success and how much they care."

Sunflower Health Plan makes KidsTLC's services available to its members. The partnership benefits children and adolescents who need services ranging from short-term support to more comprehensive therapies requiring Sunflower case management.

"The children that we serve have had unfortunate life circumstances, and there are times when community mental health services are not equipped to provide the proper services and support," said Kana Love, KidsTLC residential therapist. "So, when kids get to us, we become their community and wrap our arms around them to provide quality and needed care."
