KMAP BULLETIN: CMHC Codes and Modifiers

KMAP GENERAL BULLETIN 17250

Effective with processing dates on and after December 1, 2017, retroactive to dates of service on and after January 3, 2017, for Community Mental Health Centers (CMHCs), H2011HO will be a reimbursable telemedicine code.

Effective with dates of service on and after January 1, 2018, H0031HO will be used when a CMHC is providing a Mental Health Assessment.

When providing services through telemedicine, the provider must bill the code using the GT modifier and place of service (POS) code 02 (Telemedicine) to be reimbursed at the same rate as face-to-face services. The originating site, with the beneficiary present, may bill code Q3014 with modifier GT and the appropriate POS code.
