KMAP BULLETIN: Provider Enrollment System Upgrade

Date: 01/10/18

KMAP GENERAL BULLETIN 18003

The Kansas Medical Assistance Program (KMAP) will implement the Kansas Modular Management System (KMMS) Provider Enrollment Wizard effective on March 12, 2018. The KMMS PE Wizard will replace the current online provider enrollment system used by KMAP providers.

During the upgrade, there will be a short period of time when providers will not be able to submit an application or revalidation or make updates to existing provider data. This time is needed to allow for the conversion of provider data from the current system to the new KMMS. The following chart outlines the key dates and timeframes for each activity and the associated impact:

KEY DATES FOR 2018ACTIVITY
FEBRUARY 8System Unavailable for Submissions The current online application will be disabled. All applications and revalidations must be complete and submitted* prior to 5:00 p.m. Any application or revalidation without a submission confirmation will not be accessible after 5:00 p.m. and a new application or revalidation will need to be started in the new KMMS Provider Enrollment Wizard after March 12, 2018.
FEBRUARY 23System Unavailable for Maintenance Provider file updates and maintenance requests will NOT be processed after 5:00 p.m. Any updates or maintenance requests submitted after this time will be held and processed after the KMMS implementation on March 12, 2018.

*Applications submitted before 5:00 p.m. on February 8, 2018, will be processed and KMAP Provider Enrollment will work with providers that need to make corrections to the application during the system upgrade period. Providers must respond to communications from Provider Enrollment immediately and no later than February 23, 2018, to complete the corrections. Failure to respond by this date will result in the expiration of the application, and the provider will need to start a new application in the KMAP Provider Enrollment Wizard after March 12, 2018.
