Medicaid Renewal Information: What Your Patients Need to Know
Date: 04/13/23
A Message for Medicaid Providers. Please share with your staff.
Eligibility redeterminations for Kansas Medicaid members have been on hold. During this time, KanCare participants have not had to renew their eligibility and have been able to retain their Medicaid coverage.
KanCare is restarting eligibility renewals for members. Please encourage your KanCare patients to take action if needed to avoid losing their Medicaid coverage.
It's also important that they keep their contact info current with KanCare, so they don’t miss important notices from the state. They can do that at www.kancare.ks.gov by clicking the chat bubble dots in the lower right corner.
Let Your Patients Know
- KanCare will send members a notice in the mail when it’s time to renew their coverage. If members need to provide information, the notice will say how to do that.
- It’s very important that members follow through on the instructions, or they risk having their coverage cancelled.
- If their eligibility is confirmed, they can continue their existing coverage. If they are no longer eligible for Medicaid, they can explore Marketplace or Medicare options.
Thanks for all that you do for the health and wellbeing of your patients.
