Electronic Payment Options for Sunflower Providers

Introducing ACH+ from Zelis

Sunflower has partnered with Zelis (Payspan Health) to offer our providers a variety of electronic payment options.  

Effective February 2025, Payspan payments that were issued via paper check began processing through the Zelis Payments Network. Providers that selected ACH+ as their payment modality of choice with Zelis no longer receive paper checks.  

Providers have the option to opt out or update their payment preferences at any time in the Zelis Payment Network by contacting Zelis Provider Services at 877-828-8770 or ClientService@zelispayments.com.  

Providers always have a free EFT solution available via www.payspanhealth.com. Providers can contact Payspan® via email at providersupport@payspanhealth.com or by phone at 877-331-7154, option 1.

Providers not already receiving ACH+ today can contract with Zelis for a nominal fee to receive direct deposits on behalf of all Zelis payor partners. This allows providers to receive all payments, 835s, and customer service through a single, seamless connection with Zelis, encompassing multiple payors.   

Payment Type Options

  • Electronic Funds Transfer – Individual  payments from payors. Providers will need to download the Explanation of Payment (EOP) to manually perform account reconciliation.
    • Example: Provider may receive 10 separate ACH payments in a single business day.
  • ACH+ - Bundled payment from payors. Providers will have access to 835 electronic remittance advice to automated account reconciliation.
    • Example: Provider would receive a single ACH payment encompassing the payment of 10 separate payors.
